This Is How Khloé Kardashian’s Nail-Strengthening Hack Really Works

Recently Khloé Kardashian took to her official app and website to explain to readers how she gets strong nails. Like Khloé, I often opt for acrylic nails or gel manicures over my natural nails. I prefer a look that lasts for weeks versus having to make more salon trips for a polish change.

But for the past few months my nails have been feeling sensitive due to everything I’ve put them through. What really bothers me is the condition of my cuticles. They’re rough and cracking, and hangnails are omnipresent. So when I see Khloé raving about her beloved Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream, I know I have to give it a try. “I used to use nail oils and cuticle creams, but they did nothing for my nails,” she writes. “I get acrylics a lot—and gel manis, too—so it has to be a really tough formula.” The cream was originally created for use on horse hooves, so its strength is certainly unmatched.

At first I think I’ll have to use it for several weeks to see a real difference—my cuticles are that bad, and my nails are that sensitive. I make sure to apply the cream all over my nails morning and night, and it only takes about four days for me to notice smoother, softer cuticles and much stronger nails.

Usually when my natural nails grow in after I remove my acrylics, they’re weak, brittle and sometimes splitting. Now, I’m about two weeks in with my brand-new cuticles and my nail beds are visibly healthy and have grown without any breakage or splits. Let’s just say Khloé has convinced me to go au naturel—for now at least.
