Misty Copeland Just Signed A Major Beauty Deal

She’s already made history as the American Ballet Theatre’s first African-American principal dancer, and now Misty Copeland is joining the ranks of other industry game-changers as the new face of Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse fragrance. The beauty giant couldn’t have chosen a more fitting figure for its latest campaign, with the prima ballerina earning her spokesmodel stripes (following in the footsteps of Kendall Jenner and Arizona Muse) for serving as an inspiration to all kinds of women—no matter their age, race or background. “The circumstances you were born into and the environment you grew up in are not your fault, and it doesn’t mean you can’t come out of it and create your own destiny,” Misty wrote to her 13-year-old self in an exclusive letter for Glamour. Although she’s done endorsements with Under Armour, Coach and Dannon, it’s heartening to see the dancer—who radiates grace and elegance inside and out—finally nab a partnership with a beauty brand.
