The Haircuts That Will Be Everywhere This Summer, According To A Celebrity Stylist
The ’60s had the mod chop, the ’90s had “the Rachel” and last year was all about the lob. If there’s anything we’ve learned from history, it’s that trends come and go, and clearly the same can be said for haircuts. So, we tapped Dove celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend to forecast what’s ahead for summer 2017. Here, his predictions.
"The biggest haircut of the summer will be the textured blunt cut. We've seen the blunt lob, but this year all hair lengths will be rocking straight ends with piece-y texture. The great thing about blunt ends is they make fine or thin hair appear fuller."
"Curly-haired girls are embracing bangs in a big way. Once considered taboo for textured hair, they're bold, fresh and the perfect shake-and-go look—no blow-dry necessary."
"One-length bobs (with or without bangs) are back in a big way. Just make sure yours isn't too short or asymmetrical in the back to avoid looking dated!"
"Touchable bangs are the future. Not a side bang and not a heavy, 2000s-inspired fringe, these are soft, finely cut and versatile. You should be able to brush them to the side with your fingers, and one pin should be enough to keep them back when pulling your hair up."
