Don’t think you can rock red makeup? Chanel begs to differ. The first collection from Chanel Global Creative Makeup and Color Director, Lucia Pica, was recently introduced in London and officially launched online today. Comprised of products for the eyes, lips, cheeks and nails, it more than earns its moniker, Le Rouge Collection, No. 1. Pica (whose signature look includes a red lip, much like Coco Chanel herself) infused the bold hue throughout the collection—and not just in nail polish and lipstick, but even in the products for the eyes. Don’t be scared, this makeup guru knows exactly what she’s doing: “I wanted to do something quite bold also knew women had to wear this collection in their everyday life,” says Pica, who was born in Italy but calls London home. “I made sure that even though the concept is daring—there is a red eye shadow and a red eyeliner—I worked on the colors in a way that works very well on the skin.” If this is collection numero uno from the talented, creative and unabashedly innovative Pica, we can’t wait to see what’s to come. Here, some of the highlights from the line, all of which are perfect for painting the town red—natch.

Illusion D'Ombre Eye Shadow in Rouge Brule
We know what you’re thinking: Red eye shadow? Believe it or not, it’s shockingly flattering on literally every eye color (seriously, we tested the theory out of our own disbelief). Better yet, Pica let us in on a secret benefit to the unique shade: “A little bit of red on the high cheekbones or the apple of the cheeks disguises tiredness. We tend to overdue concealing under the eyes—you add it and add it and nothing really happens, but if you put little bit of red, you just concentrate on that and feel and look fresh.” The red eye shadow works whether your eyes are blue, green or brown, magnifying the natural shades in the eye. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourself. You won’t believe the gorgeous results.
Le Vernis Nail Gloss in Rouge Radical
Another of our favorites from the line is the see-through, glossy red nail polish that offers just a hint of color while remaining transparent, resulting in a simple manicure both easy and elegant.
Stylo Yeux Waterproof in Eros
It would be easy to write off redish eye liner as too crazy to try, but Pica does not lead you astray with this incredibly flattering shade. Even more interesting, it looks a little different on everyone, depending on color of the skin and eyes. The overall effect is dreamy, magnifying the natural eye hue.
Rouge Allure Velvet in Rouge Feu
Nail the perfect red pout with this poppy, bright shade ideal for the woman looking to turn heads.
Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rouge Profond
Don't be intimidated by the deep color of this cheek shade—it brings life to the face with one stroke of a brush.
