Use This DIY Cleanser To Give Your Makeup Brushes The Best Deep Clean Ever

by Stephanie Montes

By now, you know how important it is to keep your makeup brushes clean. Seriously, the amount of old makeup, dead skin cells, dust and bacteria that can be found in your bristles is borderline offensive. Our advice: Wash them right now and then every week thereafter. While the suds process is usually less than groundbreaking, we just peeped our new favorite tip on Mario Dedivanovic’s (AKA Kim Kardashian’s makeup artist) Snapchat. His advice: Combine baby shampoo and a few drops of tea tree oil to DIY the perfect brush-cleaning solution. Tea tree oil is perfect for killing acne-causing bacteria—even the ones found in your dirty makeup brushes—and baby shampoo is gentle, so you don’t have to worry about it ruining your beloved tools. Do you really need more convincing to clean those brushes?
