The New (Non-Kylie) Lip Kit For Fashion Girls

If you’re a self-proclaimed beauty junkie, you can’t get enough of makeup artist Pat McGrath’s talent. Apart from creating the looks for the biggest shows in fashion, and having a tight-knit circle of A-list pals, Pat’s makeup launches always keep us on our toes.

She’s already touched everything from pigment, to eyeshadow, to highlighter, but her fourth release may just be her best yet. While backstage at the Atelier Versace show, Pat teased that she had something major in the works. It was all over Instagram, and you most likely came across photos of models Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill donning sparkly, maroon and deep purple lips. Earlier this week, we were all captivated by Rihanna’s lips on the September cover of W also courtesy of Pat’s newest product range. In other words, if you’ve been looking to take your lipstick to much bolder heights, you’ll want to read all the details.

We figured Pat was releasing sparkly red lipsticks or glosses, but it turns out we were so wrong. Thanks to an exclusive preview of Pat’s latest launch, Lust 004, we learned all of the details and even got to try it out for ourselves. Think of Lust 004 as an adult lip kit, with something for everyone to try. The glitter seen on the models is not mandatory, and here’s why.

There will be three kits available for $60 each, which include two matte lipsticks, a clear vinyl gloss, metallic gold pigment, and microfine glitter. The color options are Flesh (nude), Vermillion Venom (red), and Bloodwine (deep maroon).

If you’re not into all of the extra stuff, you can purchase each lipstick shade individually for $25. For those of us who like to experiment with our makeup, the Everything Kit will be available as well for $150.

“You can be excessive,” Pat said. However, the best part is that you don’t have to be. Depending on just how lip obsessed you really are, this collection can take your pout from basic, to glossy, to multidimensional. “You’ll try it out, play with the glitter, press it on alone, maybe add a tiny bit of gloss, or wear the gold as eyeliner. It’s a kit for everything.

Pat McGrath’s Lust 004 will be available on August 30th at patmcgrath.com, followed by a national release on sephora.com and 7 select Sephora stores on September 8th. While you anxiously wait for the versatile lip kit, we’ve selected some options for you try in the meantime.
