How To Get The Beauty Look From Rachel Zoe’s LA Fashion Show

There wasn't a doubt in our minds that our fearless leader and EIC Rachel Zoe would turn heads when debuting her brand-new Spring 2018 collection and first-ever bridal showcase in Los Angeles. And, along with the killer fashion, we were dazzled by the standout beauty looks on RZ's runway. Glowing skin, rosy cheeks and perfectly pink lips were the looks du jour. To help us all channel our sun-kissed goddess within, we caught up with the hair and makeup professionals backstage for the 411 on how to get the look.

Skin

A great beauty look starts with great skin, and RZ's models were treated to a luxury beauty treatment prior to strutting down the runway, including three skincare staples for a fresh glow. To get your own hydration, apply La Prairie's Skin Caviar Essence-in-Lotion to clean skin. This helps reduce the appearance of pores and helps lift and firm the skin. Follow with the brand-new Skin Caviar Absolute Filler to target any loss of volume in the face and neck. This daily moisturizer tones your skin and works as a powerful antiaging agent to naturally contour the face. Of course we can't forget about the eyes, especially when you'll be applying makeup next. Touch up the delicate area with the Essence of Skin Caviar Eye Complex for instant firming and you're good to go.

Makeup

To achieve the perfect day-to-night glow, the pros from Too Faced used the brand's new Peaches and Cream collection on each model for a monochromatic look. Start by mixing a half pump of the cult-favorite Hangover Primer mixed with Peach Perfect Foundation for a flawless base. Born This Way Concealer covers any under-eye puffiness and brightens dark circles. The Peach My Cheeks Melting Powder Blush can be used on both cheeks and lips for that natural rosy flush, as well as a soft wash of peach across the lids. Additional hues from the Just Peachy Mattes palette add depth—choose lighter shades in the inner corner of the eyes to highlight. To lightly contour and sculpt the face, dust the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer to frame your overall bone structure. For a dewy finish, apply the Love Light highlighter across the cheekbones and the Peach Frost Highlighter above the brow bone, atop the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and onto the cupid's bow. Bring some drama, volume and length with two coats of cult-favorite Better Than Sex mascara. For eyeliner, use an angled brush and lightly apply the shade Chocolate Dipped from the Just Peachy Mattes palette. For lips, lightly dab the Peach Kiss Lipstick in Drunk Dial as a stain followed by a swipe of Melted Latex High Shine Lipstick in Girl On Top for a just-kissed effect. Finish with a spritz of Hangover 3-in-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray and Peach Blur Finishing Powder to lock in your work.

Hair

Lead hairstylist and John Paul Mitchell Systems editorial director Lucie Doughty created effortlessly chic and beautifully undone waves to complement Rachel's collection. For depth and volume, each model wore Deux Luxe² clip-in extensions. Clip-in bundles can be purchased in 15 different options with up to three beautifully blended highlights and lowlights in one package. To recreate the look at home, start with a center part, then section hair starting at the nape of the neck. Prep hair from bottom to top with Paul Mitchell's InvisibleWear Pump Me Up volumizing texture powder. Create a single three-strand braid with loose hair and secure with a clip for control, leaving ends free.

Continue the texturizing process on your entire head, bringing another section down and dividing it into three individual braids. End with the top layer divided into four sections and then braided. Once the entire head of hair is braided, spray each braid with Paul Mitchell's Extra-Body Finishing Spray to tame flyaways and add volume, then run the Neuro Smooth flat iron over each braid for definition. Let hair cool, remove clips and use your fingers to break apart the braids and marry the texture. Create a bend in the hair on face-framing pieces using the Neuro Smooth flat iron in a reverse C shape to complete the look. Finish with Paul Mitchell InvisibleWear Undone Texture Spray to add to the natural, lived-in feel.

Nails

Michelle Saunders for Essie created a layered cream manicure and pedicure shade with a kiss of bling on each nail bed, channeling the ultimate classic fashion staple: a pearl earring. For the gorgeous manicure, start by applying First Base base coat to clean nails. Next, apply one coat of Imported Bubbly for a golden beige base. Follow with one coat of Allure to create a layer of sheer white, then add Good To Go top coat for high shine. While the top coat is still wet, use a dotting tool or bobby pin to add one piece of glitter from Set In Stones and place it close to the nail edge. For the pedicure, apply First Base base coat, then add a coat of Imported Bubbly. Follow with a layer of Allure and finish with a layer of Good To Go top coat.
