Make Your Lashes Grow Naturally

So you dream of longer lashes but the thought of putting chemicals on your eyes freaks you out and medical treatments are just out of the question. Stop considering taking drastic measures and fumbling around with false lashes. Here, get our tips for getting longer lashes at home, the natural way.

Lashing Out

Olive Oil

Treat your lashes as you would treat your hair. Keeping them hydrated and conditioned allows for continued growth. Olive oil nourishes and has antibacterial properties to remove makeup buildup that inhibits new hair growth. Apply with a clean mascara wand before bed and wash off in the morning.

Green Tea

The caffeine in green tea stimulates new growth in lashes. Make a fresh cup of tea and let cool. Soak a cotton ball in the tea and swipe over the lash line.

Trim Your Lashes

Seriously. Trim a short amount off the ends of your lashes–when the hair gets too long without being trimmed, the follicle becomes weak and falls out. Trimming your lashes monthly results in a fuller flutter.

Eat Right

You are what you eat and there are a few select foods that make your hair (and yes, lashes are hair) stronger and shinier: apple, spinach, eggs, meat, fish, avocado and raspberries.

Aloe Vera

Natural aloe gel is packed with vitamins and nutrients that improve the growth of lashes and strengthen the follicle. Swap out your heavy mascara for a week and instead apply gel with a clean wand.
