Drink Your Way To Healthy Skin

by Kate Wolfson

Lotions and potions certainly do their part, but we’re firm believers that glow-from-within skin comes from, well, within. Apparently, we’re on the right track since the health-experts at Pressed Juicery literally wrote the book on the topic of inside-out wellness. To give you a taste, we asked partnering founder Carly de Castro to share three of her favorite skin-healthy juice recipes and tried them out ourselves.

The verdict? Downright delicious. All you need to start drinking your way to a flawless complexion is a juicer, a trip to the produce aisle and these 5-ingredient-or-less recipes. Bottoms Up!

Citrus 12

"The raspberries in this refreshing juice contain high levels of antioxidant compounds phytonutrients ellagic acid and anthocyanins. These compounds are anti-aging and anti-inflammatory, exactly what we want for our skin."

Apple, Pear, Melon, Grape, Mint

"This juice is like eating an entire fruit salad through a straw! The melon contains carotenoids which convert to vitamin A. And vitamin A is key for beautiful skin. The grapes are rich in resveratrol which is one of the most effective anti-inflammatory nutrients that have also been shown to express our anti-aging genes."

Grapefruit, Guava, Kiwi

"Kiwi is one of the skin super foods -- it promotes a healthy, glowing complexion. The guava in this tropical juice has a high copper content -- the mineral helps our bodies produce the skin pigment, melanin, which protects our bodies from ultraviolet rays."
