With beach season steadily approaching, we can all rest assured that our perfect “bikini bodies” will never be fully realized, no matter how many photos we add to our #fitspiration boards on Pinterest. We’re human, after all. But no worries—it looks like the world (or at least the retail sector) is finally getting the hint that most women don’t come in Victoria’s Secret Angel sizes: Target just debuted its latest swim campaign using real women of different backgrounds, ethnicities and body types. On top of that, the mega-store’s ads feature un-retouched beauties like model Denise Bidot (below) and YouTube star Megan Batoon, who flaunt their curves, cellulite and stretch marks in cute swimwear styles from crocheted one-pieces to strappy bikinis. We applaud Target for embracing such diversity, and come summer, we’ll be following this example.
