Ask Rachel: How To Get A Front Row Look

by Tyler Love

Thank you Michelle,

I’m flattered! New York Fashion Week is always total mayhem (in a good way), but I’ve found that a stylishly smart outfit is all it takes to keep cool in the midst of the craziness. My main guidelines are to find something comfortable—since you will most likely be wearing it on the run from show to show—and chic…then just accessorize accordingly.

The ensemble I wore to both Prabal Gurung’s show—Marc Jacobs jumpsuit, vintage YSL necklace, Louis Vuitton sunnies and Givenchy wedges—was both all-weather appropriate (with the ever fluctuating forecast, you MUST stay on your toes!) and classic.

When in doubt, I say a jumpsuit always works. It is a simple outfit equation…solid one-piece + standout add-ons = mah-jor look. To achieve a similar style, start with Rachel Roy’s stylish and sophisticated Business Mixed With Pleasure Jumpsuit. This navy number—loves it—is essential for right now. Next, you will need a statement-making necklace.Try something like Sandy Hyun’s Bib Necklace or Antik Batik’s Alexa Necklace. Both picks are tribal-inspired and certain to freshly update any ensemble.

Then, give your go-to pumps a break and opt for a cool pair of sky-high wedges. Joe’s Jeans’ Ultra Wedges are a pair I am currently coveting myself. However, if you’ve been dreaming of a closed-toe option, try Minimarket’s Pleated Wedges. Finally, work in someblack-out frames and a large tote…and voilà, your NYFW-inspired ensemble is complete. Now smile for those photogs 🙂 xoRZ
