They constantly make headlines as one of the world’s most fashionable (and undeniably good-looking) couples, but it turns out David Beckham isn’t exactly the biggest fan of his and Victoria’s sartorial choices—or at least their choices from years past. The former soccer star let this much spill during an interview with James Corden on last night’s The Late Late Show, when the host pointed out David’s upcoming 18th wedding anniversary and subsequently picked apart his style over the past two decades.
“It’s safe to say you and Victoria made what I consider to be a bold choice among couples—of dressing the same,” James said, to which David insisted, “That idea was not my idea.” (No shocker there.) But when asked about the outfits he regretted, Becks replied, “Most of them!”
Fair enough, considering those matching leather Versace ensembles were essentially made for the ’90s, and it seems David totally agrees: “I’m not saying I regret them, because at the time they felt right, but now I’m not so sure.”
Good to know we’re not the only ones who lament the fashion faux pas of our younger years.
