After recently celebrating her 35th birthday, Kate Middleton made headlines again for her first official royal engagement of 2017. On her recent visit to the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families in London, the Duchess of Cambridge channeled the style of another charitable royal, Princess Diana.
Middleton donned a ’50s-inspired cobalt blue Eponine coat, complete with matching Rupert Sanderson pumps and a Stuart Weitzman clutch, as she spent time with children and spoke with mothers about the challenges of parenting. There was even mention of Princess Di herself when Prince William empathized with a child who lost her father. “Do you know what happened to me? You know I lost my mommy when I was very young, too. I was 15, and my brother was 12,” he said. So sweet!
Of course, this isn’t the only time Kate has looked toward her mother-in-law for fashion inspiration. She’s previously worn the Princess of Wales’s famed tiara, and we have no doubt she’ll continue to follow in Diana’s footsteps—sartorial and otherwise.
