Michelle Obama Just Wore The Designer We’ve Been Dying To See Her In

by Kristi Mikesky

Though always elegant, Michelle Obama has been on one heck of a sartorial winning streak in recent weeks. For the UN General Assembly on Monday evening, she took to the stage in a custom dress by in-the-know fave contemporary label Self-Portrait. Despite being just several years old, the brand has seen a swift uptake among editors, celebrities, and now, the First Lady herself. The printed dress worn by FLOTUS featured lattice detailing at the neckline and sleeves, tempered by a classic A-line hem, which made it a fashion-forward yet ladylike choice. First there was Brandon Maxwell, then Alessandro Michele for Gucci, now Self-Portrait—we can only hope Michelle’s next major appearance will showcase yet another buzzed-about designer (fingers crossed for Monse!).
