A Day In The Life Of A Fashion Alum & Street-Style Star

Kate Foley has been on our radar for years, and while you may not recognize her name, she likely looks familiar since she is constantly photographed for her ah-mah-zing street style. Her career, too, is more than a little impressive: She has worked in both editorial—Style.com, British Vogue and V Magazine to name a few—and in fashion retail (Opening Ceremony, Intermix and Topshop). Currently, the fashion powerhouse is the Contributing Fashion Director of Vestiaire Collective, an online destination where you can buy and sell new and vintage high-end fashion (think eBay, but highly curated). Here, Kate shares photos documenting a day in her fashionable life.

How do you spend the first hour of the day?

"I normally get up around 6:30-7 a.m. and go for a run. It’s the one time in the day I can totally clear my head."

What did you have for breakfast?

"I just had passion fruit and Earl Grey tea today as I have an early lunch meeting."

What are you wearing today?

"I'm wearing a beaded Suno dress from the pre-fall collection and pink silk Louis Vuitton shoes."

What was your first meeting of the day?

"I met with Sandy Liang—one of the brands I work with. She designs the most amazingly crazy furry coats and cool ready-to-wear pieces."

What are your office essentials in order to be productive?

"Just a pen and notepad, but I always have to be in a very clean and inspiring space to focus. My office is light and lofty, and I have lots of bright furniture like this amazing yellow USM cabinet."

What inspired you today?

"I spent the afternoon researching for a client at the Irene Lewisohn Fashion Library at the Met which was so inspiring. I was also able to view the China: Through The Looking Glass Exhibition while I was there, which was totally incredible!"

What was your guilty pleasure of the day?

"Stopping by Bergdorf Goodman on my way home from the Met and buying a pair of Celine sandals."

What did you do after work?

"I had dinner at Indochine (pictured) with one of my dearest friends, Roopal Patel, who is a fashion consultant. I love catching up with Roopal—she's always so inspiring!"

What is your beauty ritual before bed?

"I remove my makeup with Dr. Jart Dermaclear, and then the rest is all Erno Lazlo—I wash with the black soap and tone with the Light Controlling Lotion, followed by the Hydraphel Lotion."

What are you dreaming about these days?

"My vacation in Sicily in August. I was there over New Year's, and it's so beautiful—I can't wait to go back!"
