Rachel Zoe’s November Editor’s Letter

FilmMagic

October was truly a whirlwind of fashion, philanthropy and friends. The month flew by and yet so much happened. A highlight was most definitely the 10th Annual Pink Party benefitting the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program. It was an amazing, special evening raising awareness and funds for a cause that is incredibly close to my heart. I wore a customized ruffled maxi dress from my spring collection, rendered in a gorgeous light pink. (Yes, I wore pink. In fact, I wore it twice this month.) The whole evening was a fantastic success.

In addition to the Pink Party, I traveled to Paris for Fashion Week, came home to attend the 5th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic and then spent four days in Australia speaking to thousands of people—it was such an amazing experience for me. I’m madly in love with Australia and can’t wait to go back.

And, of course, Halloween closed out the month, allowing my entire family to have much fun dressing up in elaborate costumes. As a parent, Halloween has become an official holiday for me. Obviously we all had to have two costume changes this year. My husband, Rodger, and I were The Evil Queen and The Huntsman for our adult Halloween, and when we were with the kids, Rodger was Captain Hook and I was a princess. Skyler, my eldest, was Peter Pan and baby Kaius was a lamb.

As we enter November, I am beyond excited for the holidays to begin. It’s one of my favorite times to be in LA (I can finally wear my cozy layers), and I love all of the family time the month brings. Of course, I have long been obsessed with holiday gift guides, and so I’m anxious for you to see what Team Zoe and I have in store for you. I promise, you’ll be able to find something special for everyone on your list.

Lastly, it’s with great sadness that I write about the loss of Oscar de la Renta, one of the most brilliant designers of our time. There will never be another Oscar. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with him extensively throughout my career. He was beyond elegant, incredibly kind and a long-time friend and mentor. I will miss him forever.

As I look forward to the holiday season ahead, I wanted to look back on a few snapshots from the incredible month of October. I hope you have a great November and a fabulous Thanksgiving!
