An unmistakable, specific look has taken over the style set as of late, and it combines two hero items into an unlikely, albeit decidedly fashion-forward, outfit: dresses over pants. Leading the charge of said look are Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, street-style sweethearts and designers of the cult-status brand Attico. Since this ensemble is not the easiest to pull off, we asked the fashion darlings about how best to wear the trend and why they think it makes such an impact. Read on for their astute styling tips, and to shop pieces from their latest collection.
Dresses Over Pants
Gilda Ambrosio
"Attico's dresses [like the one above] are so versatile that my favorite moment to wear them is during the day. I combine them with my vintage Levi's jeans, a T-shirt I bought at a flea market in Los Angeles and flats, and I'm ready to go out. My way to see it is more casual and effortless; I like to be comfortable even when I wear something precious. I don't separate the pieces in my wardrobe for daily use or for special occasions. I think there is always a way to dress down an important piece, like with sneakers or jeans. The Sabrina dress is my favorite from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection. I wore it for an event with an oversized biker jacket and flat Attico mules."
Giorgia Tordini
"When I think about Attico, I always feel like dressing up and creating an evening look. I like to pair the robes with tailored pants and heels to give a masculine twist to my look. One of my favorite pieces from the Fall/Winter 2017 collection is the Pat robe. It has a feminine shape also enhanced by the deep open V-neck and the embellishments, but the pants underneath give a stronger impact, making a statement look. It's the new tailleur."
