What’s New: Wear LACMA + Anita Ko

A new class of designers have been chosen to create exclusive pieces for Wear LACMA; a collaboration program launched by the Los Angeles museum back in 2012. The limited edition items are inspired by LACMA’s permanent collection and sold through Net-a-Porter, Wear LACMA’s official sponsor, with all proceeds benefitting the museum.

This year, jewelry designer (and TZR Favorite) Anita Ko zeroed in on a bat motif from the artwork of Korea’s Joseon period. The result: a gorgeous midi ring, studded earrings and ear cuff that’d be fit at any art world soiree. From Clare Vivier came totes and tees inspired by a menswear vest dating from the French Revolution. The graphic staples are begging for a West Coast weekend getaway. Finally, shoe designer George Esquivel introduced desert-to-city worthy sandals and ankle boots based on an 1857 painting of an indigenous woman by Felipe Santiago Gutierrez. All in all, some solid Los Angeles style staples fit for any agenda, including a little museum hopping.
