The French Girl Style Staple
What’s behind the French insouciance that we strive for? More often than not it’s gallic brand The Kooples, which luckily for us has just arrived stateside with a brand new store that opened this week in West Hollywood. Additional locations are set to open in San Francisco and New York, and will be filled with their trademark French girl staples with a Rive Gauche spin—think motorcycle leathers, stovepipe jeans and tuxedo jackets. What this means: we’re all a little closer to looking like Lou Doillon.
The brand was founded in 2008 on the concept of couples being able to shop together and share clothes. The unisex style of many of the pieces lends itself to the rocker-cool aesthetic of their ads, which feature real-life couples.
Opening in Los Angeles
Typically European brands burst onto the US scene in NYC, but Los Angeles is the site of the first Kooples store, which fits perfectly with the casual, off-duty clothing.
