A Design Pro On Fall Hosting Essentials That Won’t Break the Bank

Moody colors and wooden details evoke a fall-ready vibe.

Houston, Texas-based design and DIY blogger Ryia moved to America from India and had no idea where to start. After receiving a set of power tools as a gift for Mother’s Day, she began diving head-first into the world of home renovation — conquering her space room by room with a curated vision.

When thinking about prepping her space for the new season, Ryia jokes that her “home is fall-ready all year round!” Throughout her space you’ll find an autumnal color palette — earthy shades mixed with bold hues — all waiting to be accentuated. Looking to Walmart’s latest decor, she’s adding even more ceramic elements, “experimenting with moody colors,” like plum, ochre, sage, and deep burgundy, and “adding layers and texture to create a cozier space.” In her dining room, that comes in the form of serving ware and accessories, like a farmhouse-inspired stone pitcher and matte black utensils — all at an accessible price.

Pared-back forms take the fuss out of design and set the fall vibe all on their own. Soft cloth napkins and tassel detailing gives off an artisanal touch, while tapered candles create a mood that’s perfect for family time or hosting. With entertaining season just around the corner, Ryia shares, “Walmart has everything I need to have guests over and keep things stylish.”

Walmart’s new lookbook is filled with thoughtful, heritage-inspired designs that can easily fit into any space. Below, shop Ryia’s picks for leveling-up your own dining area this fall.
