The cast of Game of Thrones stepped out for the season eight premiere in New York City on Weds., dressed to the nines to celebrate the final six episodes of the smash-hit series. Maisie Williams rocked colorful bangs, Jason Momoa looked sharp alongside wife Lisa Bonet, and Emilia Clarke's purple lipstick was a vampy vibe worth recreating ASAP.
The 32-year-old stunned in a floor-length embroidered Valentino gown, with its blue-gray tulle offering an unconventional fairytale moment. In line with the lavish yet edgy number, Clarke's hair and makeup wasn't your average red carpet beauty look. With her dark tresses parted down the middle and twisted into a wispy braid, the star accented the experimental updo with amber-colored drop earrings.
The London-born actor's green eyes were complimented by smoky pink eyeshadow and bushy brows, with her deep plum lip color finishing off the vampy vibe flawlessly. Makeup artist Kate Lee shared the scoop behind the statement lip with The Zoe Report, and it may come as a surprise.
"It's actually an eyeshadow from the Chanel Les 4 Ombres compact in Mysteère et Intensitè," Lee reveals. Rather than reach for a traditional lipstick, Lee mixed Chanel's Rouge Noir lip liner with the darkest shade in the eyeshadow palette, pressing it into a "lip powder," she says.
With springtime in full swing and fresh blooms cropping up any day now, Clarke's look was a unique departure from vibrant makeup looks that are trending this season.
