Meghan Markle Added Another Blazer Dress To Her Wardrobe (Spoiler: It’s Sleeveless)

Meghan Markle is no stranger to pushing the limits when it comes to her royal style. During her and Prince Harry's 16-day tour, the mother-to-be has worn everything from a skin-baring off-the-shoulder dress, to a linen midi featuring a thigh-high slit. Her latest daring royal outfit choice? Meghan Markle's white blazer dress, which is quite possibly the easiest one-step ensemble you'll try this holiday season.

On Mon., the Duchess wore a sleek white blazer dress to a Courtenay Creative event in Wellington, New Zealand. Featuring a short hemline, an A-line silhouette, and pockets, the dress was a bold — and incredibly stylish — look for the royal. The double-breasted piece, designed by Maggie Marilyn, originally featured full-length sleeves with voluminous shoulders, but Markle opted to tailor the dress to her own personal style and make it completely sleeveless.

Although Markle briefly switched up her footwear selection with a pair of white sneakers last week, the Duchess accessorized the blazer dress with her go-to: navy-blue pointed pumps (this time, by Manolo Blahnik). As usual, she completed the minimalistic, polished ensemble by wearing her hair in one of her classic do-it-yourself updos, a low bun with a few wispy pieces strategically placed around her face.

It's clear that Markle doesn't shy away from new trends, and Mon.'s outfit marks the second time she's experimented with a mini blazer dress. The Duchess first tried out the trend in Aug. with a simple, black tuxedo dress by Judith & Charles. The look made immediately headlines, and the question of royal protocol has continued to come up throughout her tenure as Duchess. Although Markle's tights-free, bare-legged look is certainly a change of pace for the family, her shorter hemlines don't break any true royal fashion rules.

It doesn't look like Markle will be parting with this timeless style any time soon, and for good reason. A blazer dress can strike the ultimate balance between trendy edginess and conservative professionalism. Wear it to work with Markle-esque pumps on the day of a big presentation, and swap the heels out for fun booties for a celebratory happy hour. If you're going the sleeveless route, try layering the dress over a form-fitting turtleneck or under a wool trench coat for added warmth.
