Bridal Rules Worth Breaking
We are all about the old adage, rules are meant to be broken, especially when it comes to dressing for your big day. Although we love a classic strand of pearls, we’re with you if you find yourself gravitating towards out of the box accessories and makeup trends. Since your wedding day will be the most photographed event of your life, be sure you dress exactly how you want and feel free to break the rules. It’s fully possible to be both classic and one-of-a-kind and we’ve got Rachel Zoe’s styling tips to help you on your journey!
Metallic Heels: Treat Them As A Neutral
"Make the shoe an unexpected statement. Go for a metallic and treat them as a neutral. I love the idea of doing a metallic pump or if it’s a beach wedding try an espadrille or wedge so that you’re comfortable."
Your Gown Should Be A Reflection Of Your Style
"Your wedding gown does not have to be ivory, antique white or optic white. You can wear metallic champagne, a pale soft hue or a pretty blush. I have friends that wore black and navy and it was unexpected...Also, another favorite is cocktail or tea-length if it's a casual wedding."

Wedding Bands: Mix & Match Metals
"You can absolutely have a wedding band that is completely different than your engagement ring. Some people don’t wear their actual engagement ring everyday, they wear just the band. Think about what’s going to work in your everyday life and take that opportunity to wear something a bit edgier and less traditional."

Try Romantic Tousled Hair
“As opposed to thinking you need a traditional tight chignon, try a romantic tousled look, a deep side part, top-knot or slight finger wave for effortless glamour.”

Glam Earrings: Go For The Unexpected
"For earrings, go dramatic with stick diamond drops or a crystal floral or leaf design. Even better, because it’s so on trend, wear an ear cuff or winged earring."
Wear Colorful Lipstick
“Don’t be scared to wear bright lipstick at your wedding. Depending on the time of year, I like a poppy coral, soft red or even a berry tint. With a dramatic lips, go lighter everywhere else and add mascara to your lashes so your eyes pop."
