And for anyone who lives in a Polar Vortex, your skin is also likely feeling dry, looking dull, and overall experiencing a serious case of “winter face.” However, chasing your long-lost glow doesn’t have to be a marathon. An over-the-counter version of retinoid, retinol is a derivative of vitamin A that basically “instructs” your skin to look healthier—and your skin dutifully listens.
