Amanda Seyfried’s Trick To Doing Her Makeup In Less Than 5 Minutes

Known as much for her bright-eyed beauty as for her roles in romantic dramedies, Amanda Seyfried has the kind of fresh-faced look we all wish for. Her golden locks and porcelain skin have led her to lucrative fashion campaigns with Miu Miu and Givenchy as well as her six-year role as a spokesperson for Clé de Peau Beauté. But if there’s one thing we know about the actress, it’s that she’s pretty low maintenance, often citing once-a-week hair washes and only the occasional use of foundation.

“When it comes to a beauty routine, I want to spend less than five minutes in front of the mirror,” she tells Marie Claire in its April issue. “I love things that make getting ready as easy as possible; I recently had my eyelashes dyed so I don’t have to put on mascara every day.”

That’s right: Eyelash tinting is a fairly easy procedure that not only gives you voluminous-looking fringe but also gets you out the door quickly in the morning. If done correctly, the color lasts a good four to six weeks, and it costs $20 to $40 depending on where you have the service done. (No cutting corners here—these are your precious peepers we’re talking about.) For Amanda, going mascara-free allows her to get on with her perfect day, which she describes as getting up at 8am, feeding the horses and chickens, sipping coffee, crocheting and meditating: “I’m constantly looking for ways to be healthier and happier, to heighten my awareness and to have compassion—and all that comes through on the outside.”
