These Beauty Products Make A Case For Wearing Makeup To The Gym

by Stephanie Montes

Not too long ago, it was considered a major faux pas to wear yoga pants outside of a yoga studio. Fast-forward to today and not only is athleisure a comfortable option for a weekend sweat session, we’re pairing it with our favorite designer pieces. And this rising trend has inspired more than just our wardrobes. On the whole, millennials maintain a much healthier lifestyle than previous generations, and documenting it has become somewhat of a social status, from acai-bowl beauty shots to post-workout selfies. And as boxing studios and CrossFit gyms become gathering places, it’s no wonder exercise junkies want to look as good as they would on a night out. Enter: athleisure beauty. Once frowned upon, wearing makeup for your workout is now totally a thing thanks to lightweight textures and sweat-proof formulas. Ahead, our favorite fitness-friendly products we’re packing in our gym bag.

Makeup You Can Wear To Work Out

e.l.f Active

Known for its super affordable, highly pigmented and trendy products, e.l.f. Beauty was an early adapter of the athleisure makeup market. The range includes a workout-ready eyeliner, sweat-resistant mascara and non-comedogenic lip and cheek palette.

CliniqueFit

The cult-favorite skincare and makeup brand is jumping on the athleisure trend with products that cater to pre- and post-workout (like a BB cream, mattifying powder and waterproof mascara).

Tarte Athleisure

Perhaps one of the first brands to jump on the trend, Tarte has a full range of gym staples that even extend beyond the makeup category. Aside from its hair, skincare and body products, we're fans of the highlighting moisturizer, tinted moisturizer and smudge-proof mascara.
