How Cindy Crawford Really Feels About Kaia Gerber Walking Her First Fashion Week Show
Just days after her sweet 16, Kaia Gerber officially made her runway debut this New York Fashion Week, starting with Calvin Klein’s Spring 2018 show and consecutively walking for Alexander Wang, Fenty x Puma and Coach. If there’s one thing we noted from her performances, it’s that she has clearly inherited her supermodel mother’s fabulous strut, and apparently Cindy Crawford agrees. In fact, the runway veteran went so far as to admit in an interview with Extra that the whole thing couldn’t help but remind her of her early modeling days. “It’s so fun because they’re so excited,” she said about her daughter as well as son Presley. “And for me, it’s really weird—it brings me back to being on the runway and being a young model in New York.” For dad Rande Gerber, the moment was also a testament to just how quickly the teenage star is blossoming into a young woman. “Sometimes it’s hard for you seeing your little girl growing up,” he said—but not without that overprotective-father tendency. “You see people looking at her, and that’s my 16-year-old daughter. ‘Get back here right now. Go upstairs and change!'” Aw, they grow up so fast.
