With not one but three films in the pipeline for 2014 and 2015, a game-changing fashion app gaining traction in the iTunes store and a handsome new hubby on her arm, Kate Bosworth has a lot to celebrate this year. That said, the California beauty has been turning heads with her incredible outfits and cool creative projects pretty consistently for over a decade now. Get to know the inspiring, kind and ultra-stylish Kate in today’s Women of Style interview.

EARLY LIFE & CAREER

Her Childhood

"I was born in California and moved to San Francisco at age 6, Connecticut at age 11 and the Boston area at age 14. I'm an only child and moving so often was challenging, however, having to constantly meet new people at such a young age helped me to develop socially. It also helped me value my independence."

Her First Job

"Like most small town girls, the first time I made my own money was by babysitting the kids in my neighborhood. The first time taxes were implemented was from my paycheck in The Horse Whisperer. I was 14 years old."

Her Role Models

"I look to smart, interesting leading ladies in all aspects of life. Recently I worked with Julianne Moore in Still Alice. I have always looked to her as a role model from afar, however, getting to know her more intimately - watching her perform in a professional forum and observing her as a wife and mother - created an even stronger impression on me. She has a light that is unmatched."

The Best Career Advice She's Ever Received

Her Favorite Acting Memory

Upcoming Projects

"I have some interesting projects coming out this spring! Somnia is a character drama with a combination of magical realism meets horror. Still Alice is a beautiful family drama based on the best-selling novel, with Julianne Moore, Kristen Stewart and Alec Baldwin. Unconscious has been one of my favorite roles to date. The character is incredibly complex and truly sociopathic. My husband directed this picture and it stars me and Wes Bentley."

"The project I am most excited about is called We Shot Ourselves, a movie I've been shooting with Michael. It's about the journey of two characters who cross the vast landscape of America. It's taken the last two years to shoot and has taught me a lot about the technical side of movie making. It's sort of like a love letter."

Fashion Industry Lessons

"Working within the fashion industry has taught me to understand the balance between art and commerce. That everything surrounds a price point. The fabric, the hardware, embellishments, finishes...where it's made, how it's sampled, turnaround, developed and delivered. The creative vision must be interpreted with these details in mind. It's a constant balance."

Her New App, Style Thief

"Style Thief is an incredible tool that helps women identify and search for pieces they love in the real world, online. There's also a discovery element that inspires people to try new brands and pieces if they don't have something specific in mind."

"You can never know the success of any endeavor, like how much a film will make or if a collection will take off, so we'll have to see how women use it before we decide where to take the company next. The app is a concept I find both useful and inspirational as a fashion consumer, and I'm proud of that."

The Process Of Developing Style Thief

"Maintaining simplicity in design is challenging. Users don't register good design but bad design is very noticeable. Obviously, Steve Jobs and Jonathan Ives are heroes when it comes to marrying functionality with great design. We are always striving to improve with this combination in mind."

How She's Used Style Thief Recently

"I found a great pair of Marc Jacobs pink metallic wedge sandals manually (we don't have digital recognition for shoes now - but we will soon!) and I found a beautiful Isabel Marant minidress by taking a screenshot from a blog and uploading it to the app from my library."
