Jennifer Lopez’s 2023 Grammys Hairstyle Spanned A Couple Decades

Two for one.

Jennifer Lopez has never met a red carpet or award show she can’t dominate. Whether via bold fashion choices or a flawless beauty look, the singer never disappoints. The 2023 Grammys were no exception as J. Lo’s hair stole the show this time around, going through changes that spanned two trending decades.

The first shot of J. Lo’s hair (shown before she arrived at the Grammys) displayed a voluminous 2000s-inspired pouf, complete with a puffed-up center piece and big dramatic waves.
If you can’t recall where you’ve seen this look before, just think of early aughts queens like Lauren Conrad, Lindsay Lohan, and Hilary Duff back in the day. The pouf was a favorite among this Juicy Couture- and pleated miniskirt-clad set.Jesse Grant/WireImage/Getty Images
OK, but back to J. Lo, the star seemed to have a change of heart on her way to the Grammys as she changed up her hairstyle before she stepped on stage to present an award. Nostalgia was still on the menu, as she took down her pouf, split it down the middle and tucked the pieces firmly behind her ears, leaving the crown of the head teased and full, cascading down her back.Kevin Winter/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images
Lopez’s updated look harkens back to 1960s sirens like Jean Shrimpton and Raquel Welch, who often wore similar styles, sweeping or slicking the hair in the front and going big and bold in the back.Mondadori Portfolio/Mondadori Portfolio/Getty Images
Whichever era you prefer, J. Lo certainly delivered a look that can serve you well in 2023. Try out either style for yourself and remember: The key here is volume.Kevin Mazur/Getty Images Entertainment/Getty Images
