Kendall Jenner Wears This Up-&-Coming Brand Nonstop — & It’s Easy To See Why
Kendall Jenner loves her '90s-inspired leather trench coat, and she's rarely spotted without her white knife booties (a shoe style Kourtney Kardashian is quite the fan of, too.) But recently, one new, can't-miss print has been popping up in many of the 23-year-old's outfits: Crescent moons. And Kendall Jenner's gray shirt is the latest covetable fashion find sprinkled with the whimsical motif that's clearly become her favorite.
On Sat., Jenner took to Instagram to share a handful of photos that appeared to have been taken during Coachella. The model's festival fashion didn't go unnoticed, of course, especially among the fashion-obsessed.
In the snaps, Jenner can be seen rocking a pair of high-waisted leather pants and silver sunglasses, but the true standout element in her ensemble was her shirt: a gray, long-sleeve top that featured an all-over moon print. If you feel like you've seen her wearing something similar before, you certainly aren't wrong. The 23-year-old has been donning various pieces, from tops to gloves, with this notable crescent motif almost nonstop as of late.
Paris-based designer Marine Serre is the mastermind behind Jenner's moon-print pieces. The 26-year-old — who's an alum of Demna Gvasalia’s Balenciaga and Matthieu Blazy’s Margiela — launched her eponymous label in 2017 and made her Paris Fashion Week debut during the Fall/Winter 2018 season.
Since then, Serre's pieces have earned steady praise for blurring the lines between ready-to-wear and sportswear (think: expertly tailored gowns rendered in unique fabrics.) Furthermore, her designs marry vintage cuts with tech materials and fuse feminine silhouettes with hard-edge utilitarian detailing.
It's this juxtaposed approach — along with sustainably made, boundary-pushing designs — that has made her one to watch in the fashion world. That said, it's easy to see why Jenner's been playing favorites with Serre's trend-forward yet functional staples.
Though Jenner's worn the brand's trademark moon-print tops most often, it's likely more of Serre's bold pieces (read: the flame dress or the mask-print blouse) will make an appearance in her street-style getups.
