August may be the twilight of summer, but we prefer to think of it as the cocktail hour for fall. To whit, we’re approaching the new season’s trends with zeal, looking forward to getting ourselves back into a productive routine and overhauling our beauty regimen. Here, our founder Rachel Zoe is sharing the things she’s excited about this month and the pieces she is currently coveting.
"I'm obsessed with fall fashion. There's nothing better than cozy knits and rich colors, which is why I'm always head-over-heels for my fall Box of Style. We just launched the edition, which includes a luxe cape in black or bordeaux, a layered lariat from Ettika and a sleek vegan leather belt. Since skincare is extra crucial as you recover from excessive sun exposure and adjust to colder temperatures, I also included Caudalie's Vinoperfect serum which works wonders on my skin, correcting dullness and dark spots without harsh ingredients. "My design team and I have also been incredibly busy all summer. Not only are we putting the finishing touches on the Spring 2019 collection which shows this fashion week, but we also launched a capsule line, Zoe by Rachel Zoe, with Macy's. The pieces are designed to blend seamlessly into your fall wardrobe, whether for the office or on the weekends. I included rich prints, sleek tailoring, luxe sandals and of course a few shimmering sequin pieces all for under $180."
"I've spent a lot of the summer in the Hamptons, catching up with good friends and enjoying quality time with my family. One of the things that I've loved is having the time to peruse the shops, picking up lots of unique vintage pieces and just generally getting inspired. I've always been drawn to vintage which is why I've decided to curate a range of treasures for my upcoming store. I'm opening a retail residency at Caruso's Palidsades Village at the end of September and will be stocking it with a range of vintage finds as well as one-of-a-kind Rachel Zoe Collection pieces and my upcoming collections. I'm so excited to have a brick and mortar space where people can get styled head-to-toe in my favorite things. We're still putting the finishing touches on the space but I can't wait!"
"By late summer I start gravitating towards darker color palettes. This black lace top is still dainty and lightweight enough to wear in the heat but paired with a rich printed skirt and bronze heels it hints at the season to come. When the temperatures finally start to drop I'll wear it with wide-leg pants and a camel coat."
