Here, we round up five locations perfect for a destination wedding, which, if nothing else, will totally rouse your wanderlust.
Dream Destinations
Los Cabos, Mexico
The popular Mexican locale, situated at the southernmost tip of the Baja peninsula, has a lot to offer couples (and their guests). Separated into two distinct regions within—Cabo San Lucas and Cabo San Jose—visitors can experience a cultural myriad, from picturesque beaches to lush greenery to a bustling art scene in the center of San Jose. Ceremonies overlooking the ocean are, of course, the obvious choice. The luxurious Resort at Pedregal is a sophisticated setting for a small outdoor ceremony, situated atop romantic, rocky cliffs, or the adults-only Pueblo Bonito Pacifico or Marquis Los Cabos offer a range of options to accommodate larger parties.
Rhodes, Greece
The Greek island of Rhodes is replete with rich history, seeing ancient ruins set against modern landmarks for a rich blend of old and new. The 5-star Amanthus resort hugs the shore of the Aegean Sea, with several outdoor decks and ballrooms to host weddings. The bohemian boutique hotel Casa Cook offers stylish lodging for guests set against the eastern coastline's splendid landscape.
Kauai, Hawaii
Miles of white sandy beaches and lush foliage are a strong draw to Kauai. For al fresco events, locations along the Na Pali Coast and Pila'a Beach in the northern part of the island are hard to beat. The St. Regis Princeville presents the gold standard in luxury for a resort-hosted ceremony. On the southern end, the National Tropical Botanical Garden is available for private events, or go the hotel route at the Grand Hyatt Kauai.
Lake Como, Italy
No one can deny the allure of Lake Como in Northern Italy, renowned for its picturesque charm and grandeur. A number of private villas are available to rent for elegant, water-front ceremonies and receptions, like Villa Giuseppina, La Corte del Lago or Villa Pizzo (where John Legend and Chrissy Teigen got hitched).
Seminyak, Bali
It's no secret Bali is a major tourist hotspot, and the tropical locale is equally compelling for weddings should you crave something of the bohemian variety. The Alila hotel in Seminyak is just steps from the ocean, providing a location that melds sand with sweeping views. For guests, a stay at the Katamama is an oasis unto itself—the space is designed by artisans and offers a tranquil recluse in a totally modern setting.
