Hold Everything—The Obamas Are Coming To Netflix
We repeat, the Obamas are coming to Netflix. Yes, according to sources, Barack and and Michelle are in talks to produce a show that’s exclusive to the streaming service and that centers on inspirational stories. “President and Mrs. Obama have always believed in the power of storytelling to inspire,” said Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to the former president. “Throughout their lives, they have lifted up stories of people whose efforts to make a difference are quietly changing the world for the better. As they consider their future personal plans, they continue to explore new ways to help others tell and share their stories.”
While neither the number of episodes nor the exact premise has been confirmed, one of the treatments reportedly being considered includes Barack moderating conversations on topics he focused on during his presidency—health care, voting rights, foreign policy, etc.—while Michelle would lead a program on topics near and dear to her heart, like nutrition and health (the show will not “directly respond to President Trump or conservative critics,” sources say). A documentary-style format that features important figures in the Obama administration is also rumored to be in talks.
Either way, if Michelle’s there, we’re there.
