Kate Middleton Just Stepped Out In A $70 Dress Because She’s Just Like Us

It’s been almost two weeks since the sartorial Super Bowl that was the royal wedding, and we’re feeling the withdrawals. Our need for fascinators, neutral pumps and sherbet-colored suits (we’re looking at you, Queenie) was at an all-time high—until, that is, we got our hands on the most recent royal-style fix, courtesy of one Kate Middleton. While we love when the Duchess steps out in swanky designer garb, nothing gets our hearts pumping like a Kate- or Meghan-approved ensemble from an affordable retailer. (We like to live in the naive notion that they’re just like us, right?) So you can imagine our excitement when we spotted Kate in a breezy denim embroidered frock from none other than—wait for it—Zara (see the look here). Yep, the mom of three was spending some quality time with Princess Charlotte and Prince George at the Houghton horse trials in Norfolk in a dress that cost all of $70! Not only are we loving that price tag, but we’re also appreciating the laid-back silhouette and detailing that literally scream summer.

Now, before you flood the Zara website, we have some sad news to share: The dress is sold out. However, because we are not quitters (especially when it comes to emulating royal style), we did some digging to find similar styles that capture the essence of Kate’s picnic-chic look. Enjoy your fix—we did.

We Wanna Be Like Kate

This off-the-shoulder chambray mini works as both an easy cover-up and brunch ensemble...you know we love a twofer.

The wrap silhouette on this embroidered shift makes it a must-have for all body types.

While Kate's exact Zara dress isn't an option anymore, this asymmetrical midi is filling the void nicely.

The tie-front cutout detailing on this frock lend the perfect touch of sass to a traditional floaty summer dress.

There's nothing buttoned-up about this puff-sleeved look.
