Just in time for the season, Birdies is debuting a collection of three zesty-hued, spirit-inspired sneakers in collaboration with tequila brand 21Seeds. And yes, it’s about fashion, but it’s also about something bigger. Together, they’re shining light on the beauty of female entrepreneurship and empowering women everywhere to do whatever they set their minds to.

Birdies, now beloved by fashion insiders, was founded in 2015 by Bianca Gates and Marisa Sharkey on the belief that your shoes can (read: should) be as cozy as the cloud-like slippers you wear around the house. The brand has since expanded its cushion technology to chic flats, sandals that go with everything, and trendy sneakers with that same goal in mind: to support women physically and mentally, empowering them to live with purpose.

21Seeds — an equally mission-driven brand — launched in 2019 and quickly rose to fave status among tequila lovers and novices alike. The company was born out of two sisters and one friend’s vision to create a delicious, smooth infused tequila with a light flavor that’s perfectly suited for sharing stories and laughing at old jokes with the people who make your world go ‘round.

Launching April 25 (just in time for Cinco de Mayo!), the limited-edition collection for women who get it all done will feature sneakers in three colorways — all inspired by 21Seeds’ infused tequila varieties. There’s a peppery green (channeling Cucumber Jalapeño), a hot pink (reminiscent of Grapefruit Hibiscus), and a warm orange (taking cues from Valencia Orange).

The vintage-inspired sneaker is designed as thoughtfully as the brands’ missions: adorned with hand-cast round wood beads and vibrant pom-pom tassels made for dancing the day and night away, and garnished with a special surprise and delight moment. Each sneaker’s inner sole features a beautiful woven blanket design that’s a staple on every 21Seeds bottle, representative of the blanket many use when entertaining their community, whether to set a table for dinner or cover the ground for a picnic.
