5 Ways To Incorporate Essential Oils Into Your Daily Routine
If you haven’t already been introduced to aromatherapy, think of it as a cross between your new favorite candle and a cure to all your most annoying ailments all in one. At a recent visit to Awili Spa and Salon inside the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, we tapped Teresa Blackwell, spa lead and apothecary consultant for all the best scents nature has to offer. Here were sharing 5 ways we learned to use essential oils in our daily routine. Warning: Once you start experimenting with them, you won’t be able to stop.
Our Favorite Ways To Use Essential Oils
Jasmine: The Happy Scent
"Put a few drops of jasmine, ylang ylang or rose in your hand and rub into your scalp. This awakens the senses and increases feelings of optimism and joy."
Mint: The Pain Reliever
"Add Peppermint essential oil to your lotion and rub on your feet at the end of a long day. Enjoy increased circulation and the natural analgesic."
Lemongrass: The Pick-Me-Up
"Add lemon or lemongrass essential oil to a spray bottle filled with water and mist the carpet before you vacuum. Citrus is uplifting and invigorating."
Lavender: The Sleep-Time Scent
"Add a few drops of Lavender essential oil to your bath to unwind, or spritz on your pillow for a restful sleep."
Basil: The Feel-Better Blend
"Combine rose geranium, basil and sandalwood and diffuse into the air when you are grieving, stressed out or overwhelmed."
