Selena Gomez’s Trainer Shares Her Go-To Winter Detox Recipe

This time of year, we’re always looking for warm comfort foods that are somehow also detox appropriate. To aid us in this endeavor, we asked Amy Davis, trainer to Selena Gomez, if she had any such undercover-healthy recipes she could share. She indulged us by showing us how to make this winter-perfect Mexican chicken soup, which checks all of our boxes—it’s easy to make, packed full of vegetables and other good-for-you foods and it tastes like you should feel guilty about curling up with a bowl (or 3). Directions

Combine: 8 peeled and sliced tomatillos 2 sliced jalapeños Olive oil Salt & pepper Lay on a baking pan & add cilantro Roast at 375° for 30 minutes

Chop: 1 bunch collard greens 1 bunch kale Sauté for 10 minutes Mash together with tomatillo mix

Chop: 4 carrots 4 celery ribs 1 head cauliflower 2 zucchini 4 cloves garlic 1 onion

Sauté for 5 minutes. Add all ingredients to organic chicken broth, then add organic roast chicken, pulled and 1 cup corn. Simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with a squeeze of lime in the bowl and garnish with cilantro and sour cream (optional).
