What We’re Buying From Ikea’s 2018 Catalog

by Erin Bunch

Being that in this day and age, the cost of housing is rising faster than wages and we feel perpetually cash poor as a result, we love all things that allow for us to make our homes cozy and cute on a budget. Enter Ikea, one of our top stops for budget-friendly home decor (as well as Swedish meatballs and an organic means for destroying perfectly good relationships). The retail giant just announced the impending release dates—August 2 in stores, August 7 online—of its 2018 catalog, and we couldn’t be more excited to preview its contents. According to a statement from Ikea, the catalog will highlight “home-furnishing solutions that enable people to live a better everyday life at home by helping them make room for the things they love,” which we read to mean it’ll enable us to better pretend our tiny, overpriced apartments are Kardashian-level homes.

Ikea also made public its plans to release an app that includes an augmented-reality feature that will allow you to test out new Ikea items in your home, virtually. It also releases on August 7.

Here, nine of the previewed pieces that are making us wish away the week so that we can start shopping, stat.
