10 Winter 2019 Nail Polish Colors Approved By Priyanka Chopra, Zoe Kravitz, & More Celebs

by Anna Buckman

It seemed like nail-art trends hit a fever pitch in 2019. It started with rainbow-nail madness and ended with a French-manicure craze, with practically every kind of design you could imagine in between. But with the last months of the year approaching, you might be wanting to keep things simple. After all, it's not only the busiest time of the year, it's also often the coldest — meaning worrying about complicated nail art is probably the last thing you want to do in between preparing for guests and trying to keep your dry hands from cracking. However, there's no need to abandon the quest of a beautiful mani completely: All you need is the right winter nail color, and some celebrity inspiration to show you just how glam a single shade can be.

And sure, you could try the obvious colors. As Joan Smalls proves, there's no going wrong with the perfect, classic red. But you could also throw caution to the wind and replace your traditional shades with a lime green like Zoë Kravitz, or baby blue like Shay Mitchell. Or, to keep things low-key, you could copy Margot Robbie and Olivia Culpo and just stick with a neutral hue like black or white all season — as both stars prove, it's an easy way to look chic and keep things low maintenance.

Of course, you don't have to stick with just one shade — so keep scrolling for 10 winter nail color options to consider this season, courtesy of your favorite celebs. You may just be tempted to try them all.

Deep Burgundy

Though burgundy might seem like a cliché color for cold weather, there's no reason to avoid it — it's warm, it's bold, and it feels perfectly seasonal. Take notes from Natalie Portman, who wore the color to ELLE's Women In Hollywood on Oct. 14 and match it to your lipstick for an elegant, monochromatic makeup look.

If your style is classic, opt for OPI's "Como Se Llama?" shade, which is a rich burgundy red that will look beautiful in a traditional, one-color manicure. Pair it with a lacy black dress like Portman, or complement it with similarly warm colors for a seasonal look. Pastel Pink

Priyanka Chopra's worn this color with everything from that bright pink monochromatic outfit to a head-to-toe mint green ensemble — and it's easy to see why. The color goes with everything, and its versatility transcends seasons.

Though Olive & June now offers a wide range of colors, it's a true master of the perfect light pink. Use this one all winter for an understated way to keep your nails looking polished and pretty. Lime Green

Lime green has been the go-to color for fashion girls looking to add an unexpected pop of color for years now, and it's clearly made its way into beauty, too. If you're shy about wearing bright hues, channel Zoë Kravitz and pair it with a romantic all-black look — it's the perfect juxtaposition for a night out.

Orangey Red

Swap your typical deep red for a punchier shade with orangey tones à la Bella Hadid. Not only is it an easy way to switch up from your usual shade, but it provides a welcome contrast to those dark winter neutrals in your closet.

Minty Fresh

Much like lime green, mint has taken over fashion girls' closets everywhere. And while it's often thought of as a spring-appropriate color, it's for that exact reason you should try it out for winter instead.

The mint green trend is only getting stronger (and better), so embrace it to the fullest with this pretty Sally Hansen nail polish and go for a full monochrome look.
