The 13 Pairs Of Shoes On Our Editors' Holiday Wish Lists
As a fashion editor, I spend much of the year helping other women figure out which trends to try, which boots to style with their mom jeans, and which luxury bags to invest in. But, during the holidays, it's my turn to finally stop and think about what I actually want this year. Making my own wish list is more frustrating than you might expect, mostly because I'm overwhelemed by the mirad of options. But, breaking things down by category helps me focus more specifically on what my personal wardrobe is currently lacking. One of the first areas I tackle: the must-have shoes for 2018 and 2019, styles I (along with my fellow editors) have kept an eye on, whether first spotted them on the runway, Net-a-Porter, or even Instagram.
To help compile my comprehensive wish list, I tapped my fellow fashion editors here at The Zoe Report to also offer up a few of their favorite items from the past year that they've added to their own run down of must-haves. The result is an assortment of highly covetable goodies you'll want to make sure you have on your radar (and put on the radars of your loved ones too). My suggestion: don't be afraid to ask for them all, because you never know — dreams come true every once in a while.
The Shoes:
"I've had my eye on these pony-hair Trademark boots for what seems like eons. They'd look as great with a pair of wide-leg pants as they would with a simple pair of light-wash denim." — Lauren Caruso, Managing Editor
"My obsession with all things Alyx has put these harnessed and belted boots at the top of my wish list. The square toe and patent straps make these unique from any of the other black boots currently in my closet." — Aemilia Madden, Senior Fashion Editor
"Typically after styling a shoot, I'll get hooked on a specific item which is exactly the case with these Fendi slingbacks. They're the perfect mix of sportiness and logomania and I can't wait until they are mine!" — Mecca James Williams, Contributing Market Editor
"Korean brand Reike Nen is one of my absolute favorites, and I discovered them on W Concept — a cool etailer that has an eye for up-and-coming brands — years ago. These pastel yellow slingbacks are the perfect antidote to winter weather." — LC
"As an avid hiker, I can't imagine taking these boots out on the trail, but I still love the look, complete with lug sole and those yellow laces." — AM
"These mules pull on my '90s nostalgia. My mother totally had a pair of shoes like this that I sashayed around in far too early! Plus, every pair of cropped jeans in my closet would look amazing with these shoes. I want them . . . BAD!" — MJW
"Can you tell I have my eye on spring already?" — LC
"I already have a pretty hefty collection of sneakers, but I have yet to spring for a designer pair. I love how colorful these Chanel sneakers are, and the fact that they lightly touch on the chunky-sole trend without feeling too over-the-top." — AM
"I am currently obsessed with Wallabees, but I haven't been able to find the pair I want in women's sizes. Finally, after a late night of searching I found Sycamore Style, a website that customizes Wallabees in so many different colors and patterns. The marbled brown and khaki is the perfect wildcard to my neutral shoe closet." — MJW
"I have exactly nowhere to wear these Rachel Comey snakeskin-embossed sandals to just yet, which is exactly why I need them." — LC
"I know we're in the midst of boot season, but I'm already thinking about all the ways I'd wear these square-toed sandals come spring." — AM
"I am a total fan or the vapor max craze, and the color on these amazing sneakers happen to go perfect with quite a lot of outfits in my closet. So why not, right?!" — MJW
"Hiking boots with a feminine touch? Sign me up." — LC
