Olivia Palermo has a style that's uniquely her own — something she's worked to perfect since her time on The City. And though she's certainly not opposed to sporting the latest fashion trends, she always manages to do so with a dash of distinctive Palermo flair. It's only fitting, then, that Olivia Palermo's untraditional wedding outfit was a truly extraordinary look — and it may just convince you to think outside of the box when it comes to your own bridal style.

Despite the fact that Palermo walked down the aisle back in 2014, her unconventional wedding-day look is certainly one for the books — and it's one of the most talked about, too. Even before she officially tied the knot, speculations were swirling as to which designer the fashion icon would don on her special day. Needless to say, she stunned the world (in the best way possible, of course) when she forwent a traditional gown and opted instead for a three-piece set by Carolina Herrera.

Palermo's stunningly unique bridal ensemble consisted of a lightweight cashmere sweater, which she tucked into a voluminous tulle skirt with beautiful floral embroidery along the hemline. The third and final piece? A pair of super-delicate coordinating shorts that she wore underneath the sheer, fluffy skirt.

Palermo went for an easy, no-fuss wedding-day hairstyle. She pulled her brown locks back into a mid-height ponytail, slightly teasing the ends for added volume, perhaps as a way to emulate the frothiness of her skirt. Small pearl studs added a touch of vintage glam, while a pair of elegant, crystal-embellishment Manolo Blahniks — the same style Carrie Bradshaw wore for her civil ceremony — acted as her something blue.

The businesswoman, entrepreneur, and fashion superstar married longtime boyfriend, Johannes Huebl, in a super low-key civil ceremony that was held in a small, quiet park in Bedford, New York. Only a handful of the couple's closest family and friends were in attendance.

"We really wanted to keep this beautiful day very private and special to us and enjoyed the whole day with our family and two friends," Palermo wrote on her website. "Bedford is such an amazing and romantic countryside."
