Kerry Washington Proves Pink Coats Will Have A Moment This Winter
Kerry Washington was pretty in pink for her appearance on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Mon. The actor matched her fuzzy knit sweater, booties, and outerwear all in the same rosy hue. The Scandal actor arrived at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Mon. wearing several pieces in a cheery pastel-pink palette. Washington sported the coziest blush-colored Tanya Taylor sweater and tucked her J Brand skinny jeans into a pair of matching leather ankle boots by celebrity-favorite footwear designer Stuart Weitzman. Even her retro Fendi sunnies matched the monochromatic look. But the standout piece of the monochrome ensemble was Washington's ankle-length cashmere coat.
The oversized coat by Mansur Gavriel is made of Italian wool and features an extra-wide lapel that extends all the way to the waist. The light-pink number has a double-breasted silhouette with a six-button closure, but the 41-year-old wore it open and flowy as she walked into the Late Show to promote her new Broadway play, American Son, which debuts in Nov.

But the pre-show look was only the beginning of the actor's pink streak on Mon. evening. For her TV appearance, Washington changed into a silky floral-print wrap dress with puffy shoulders and wore it with elegant scallop heels, all also in the feminine hue. What's more, she even wore another oversized pink coat that was extraordinarily similar to the one she wore mere hours before when she stepped out of the theater after the show was over. The second jacket was a fuzzy Olivia Pope-inspired number with a cozy robe silhouette tied at the waist.
Like her Scandal character, Washington loves a good coat. Earlier in the day, she wore a floor-length black leather trench to the set of Good Morning America. In April, the actor also sported a floor-length pink wool trench in Midtown that has striking similarities to her latest look.
