Amy Poehler Just Put A Smart Twist On Spring's Neon Trend
If there's one thing that Spring/Summer 2019 runways made abundantly clear, it's that neon is here to stay. Now that you've gotten over the shock of seeing these bright highlighter colors everywhere you look, you can start focusing on the best way to integrate this trend into your personal style. Amy Poehler's hot-pink suit is a pretty good place to start.
The comedian has been busy promoting a film she just directed (another one featuring all your favorite funny ladies from Saturday Night Live), sporting suit after colorful suit to all the press events.
Every Poehler fan knows how much the 47-year-old loves a good blazer-and-trouser combo, but lately, she's been livening up her signature separates with bold color.
First, the actor channeled her former character Leslie Knope in a bright-orange blazer (a spitting image of the one she wore in the fourth season of Parks and Recreation) while she and her old castmates teased the idea of bringing the show back (coincidence?) at PaleyFest LA in March.
That time, she paired her eye-catching two piece — consisting of a tailored, single-breasted blazer and straight-leg, slightly cropped trousers to match — with one of her go-to white button-up tops and those signature crisp, casual sneakers.
Now, the actor is sporting hot pink in perhaps one of her best fashion moments yet. On Tues., the new Hollywood Reporter cover girl arrived at a photo call for Wine Country dressed in a stunning fuchsia two piece. The brand behind the look, Argent, calls the color "electric pink." Needless to say, it's bright. And it's right on par with this spring's wildly popular neon trend.
Poehler paired the polished pink blazer — an elongated layer with gold metal buttons — over a basic black button-down blouse which she tucked into the matching suit trousers. The high-rise pants feature especially deep pockets for holding the director's red-carpet essentials and a structured side-seam vent at the hem.
Suit separates are the modern version of chic officewear these days and the bold hues that have been circulating lately give them a high-fashion twist. Blake Lively has recently sported one in trend-forward lime green with Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid both have highlighter yellow sets in their closets.
There's no doubt Poehler's hot-pink outfit will earn you the title of best dressed at work, so cop her look with the actor's exact suit and other bright separates, ahead.
