Bella Hadid Just Single-Handedly Brought Back This Trend From The '70s
New York Fashion Week is fully underway — and the trends that have made their way down the runways thus far are nothing short of jaw-dropping. But of course, the outfits to debut off the catwalk (aka, those front-row attendees don or ones that street-style photographers snap with their cameras) are what plenty of eagle-eyed fashion fans look equally forward to seeing. One getup you should, without a doubt, bookmark in your must-try sartorial tab? Bella Hadid's Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya look, which proves that this runway superstar can really pull off the boldest fashion crazes with utter panache.
On Sun. evening, Hadid stepped off the runway to sit front row at the unveiling of Zendaya's latest Fall 2019 collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger. (This is the second range the actor has worked on with the designer, since officially becoming a brand ambassador last fall.)
The Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya show shut down New York's Harlem neighborhood, transforming the borough's famed Apollo Theater into the ultimate '70s throwback party. Models decked out in predominantly black-and-white looks (with some glittery jumpsuits and burgundy velvet sets thrown into the mix) danced their way down the runway, with front-row attendees certainly nailing the '70s theme to a T, too.
Hadid, for example, took plenty of trends from the decade out for a spin on Sept. 8. The 22-year-old was hard to miss in her wide-leg metallic trousers, which were plucked from the latest Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya collaboration. She teamed the shiny bottoms with a crisp white tee and a houndstooth blazer.
Chunky combat boots seemed like a no-brainer choice (Hadid is quite keen to '90s staples), while her fresh blonde dye job peeked out from underneath the statement piece in her getup: a houndstooth paperboy cap from, you guessed it, Zendaya's Fall 2019 design range.
There are a lot of new, bold accessories finding their way into the autumn 2019 style world. First, it was Jennifer Lopez's leather beret, and now, it's Hadid's '70s-inspired topper that's set to be everywhere next month.
Want to add a bit of throwback edge to your look? Reach for a paperboy cap. Dealing with a bad hair day? A paperboy hat is your solution, too. Ahead, The Zoe Report's favorites, including the exact one Hadid wore on Sun. night.
