It's no wonder why Blake Lively has been keeping a low profile for the past few months. Her hiatus finally made sense when she arrived alongside Ryan Reynolds to the New York premiere of his new Pokemon film, Detective Pikachu, on Thurs. flaunting a very obvious baby bump. Blake Lively is pregnant with the couple's third child.

Fans started to wonder where the Gossip Girl actor had gone after her last public appearance in support of friend Emily Blunt's big Mary Poppins Returns role four months ago. She hadn't even posted a photo on Instagram since Jan. 11. Still though, fans never suspected that pregnancy would be the cause of her radio silence.

Lively finally left the house on Thurs. for her husband's film premiere. Under that canary-yellow sequined dress was the kind of baby bump you simply can't mistake. She cradled her belly like any expectant mother would do and had that coveted pregnancy glow, too. There was no mistaking it: She and Reynolds are having a third.

It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, though. The couple has joked before about being "breeders" (Lively's words), having both come from big families of their own.

Considering the timeline for their first two children — James, born in Dec. 2014, and Inez, born in Sept. 2016 — this one is about a year past due.

Lively was too busy promoting A Simple Favor and filming The Rhythm Section, now in post-production, in 2018 to have a baby in the midst of it all, so this little one will be three years Inez's junior.

The actor made the big announcement in her own stylish way, of course, wrapping up her bump in a form-fitting slip gown the same color as the yellow carpet (a tribute to Pikachu). Her springy look, a $670 number from Retrofête, featured a high leg slit, sleek spaghetti straps, and allover sequins.

She added her own cinched yellow bow to the dress, no doubt to complement her pregnant belly, and wore her hair in voluminous tight curls. This would be a good opportunity to talk about what the actor might wear to Mon.'s Met Gala (she's a highly anticipated regular, you know), but although she's attended while pregnant before, she's also been known to take years off to focus on family.

You'll find out in just a few days' time, in any case. Until then, you can always start casting your bets on the sex of Reynolds and Lively's third child.
