The Old-School Sneakers Blake Lively’s Singlehandedly Bringing Back
You can always count on a pregnant woman to be wearing a pair of top-of-the-line tennis shoes. In Blake Lively's case, it's an old-school Adidas sneaker that keeps her looking great and feeling comfortable. Her latest outing is proof that in a sea of emerging shoe trends, the classic Superstar style still reigns.
This former Gossip Girl actor doesn't go out much these days. She's notoriously private about family life, especially when she's getting ready to have a baby. Lively made the announcement that she's pregnant with her and Ryan Reynold's third child by showing up to a red-carpet event with a visible bump last month.
Since then, her outings have sadly been limited. On the rare occasion that she does make an appearance, however — whether it be a walk with the family in their New York neighborhood or a visit to Reynolds' current movie set in Boston — her trusty Adidas sneakers are always present.
Her rose gold Superstar sneakers — the iconic three-striped style that every fashion girl has — have been as much of a mainstay in her maternity wardrobe as her signature floppy hats. Lively was spotted sporting them once again in one of her husband's recent Instagram Stories.
In the photo, the parents are nuzzled up lovingly like the cute couple they are in front of the Back to the Future clock tower. Lively was visiting Reynolds in Boston, where his new movie, Free Guy, is being filmed.
For their touristy escapade, the trendy mom opted for a flowy printed summer dress and her go-to sneakers, of course (this time leaving the floppy hat at home). She also wore them a month ago — the last time she was in Boston, coincidentally — with simple jeans, a gray tee and navy wool coat.
The fact that she's still obsessed with her old-school Adidas is all it takes for them to maintain their coolness. You definitely don't have to be pregnant to make these cult-classic trainers a staple in your summer wardrobe.
In fact, Katie Holmes, Victoria Beckham, Kristen Stewart, and Sarah Hyland are all still sporting theirs, too. May these nostalgic athletic shoes never go out of style.
If you call Blake Lively your fashion muse (who doesn't?), then channel her comfy-casual off-duty aesthetic with these timeless, under-$100 tennis shoes.
