Busy Philipps Wore Fall's Most Unexpected Trend — On Her Nails

Philipps is about as real as it gets — and she's going to stick with that MO for the foreseeable future. In a recent interview for Bustle's annual Rule Breaker's issue, the actor opens up about a lot, sharing everything from why she keeps it, well, seriously unfiltered on her Instagram to her experience testifying in front of Congress (hint: nerve-wracking).

She's a rule breaker through and through — which is also why you shouldn't expect to see Philipps take a simple or boring route with her fashion and beauty approach. Case in point: Her recent Bustle photoshoot, where her fun, pastel-pink hair pops against the cobalt-blue backdrop and her bright-green nails introduce next season's biggest color trend. Think both beauty fads are too much together? Think again.

That's right, the widely debated about hue that is slime green isn't going anywhere — though it has sort of assumed a new name for fall. Pistachio, which can range anywhere from a soft, muted sage shade to an in-your-face sour-apple green, was all over the Fall/Winter 2019 runways, with the likes of Jil Sander, Sally LaPointe, Marc Jacobs, and more churning out their own takes on the rising color craze.
