Chloë Sevigny Just Brought Back These Old-School Sneakers (& They’re Still In Stock)
Chloë Sevigny is certainly no stranger to luxury labels, rocking designer names like Chanel, Prada, Miu Miu, and Maison Margiela on the regular. Although luxe, big-ticket items, undoubtedly, take up a large portion of her wardrobe, the perennial cool girl loves an affordable, old-school find, too. Mixing high-end staples with low-key classics, like vintage tees, cutoff shorts, and retro white sneakers is the secret to Sevigny's effortless, nonchalant style.
Sevigny, along with a slew of other notable names, touched down in Nice, France on May 13, just one day before the official kickoff of the the 72nd Annual Cannes Film Festival. Per usual, the fashion icon's travel outfit was a definite home run — and it's perhaps one of the best examples of her signature high-low dressing approach.
The model wore a classic blue-and-white striped mini dress (complete with a ruffled neckline) and a double-breasted navy blazer. Up top, Sevigny oozed French girl vibes, but on the bottom, her getup took an unexpected (though very welcomed) turn — a style move that's guaranteed to conjure up thoughts of Melanie Griffith's character in the '80s classic, Working Girl.
Though Sevigny could have easily paired the dress-and-blazer combo with red ankle booties or lace-up espadrilles, she opted for something drastically different in the form of classic Reebok trainers. Yep, the '80s old-school shoe has officially earned this style icon's stamp of approval — and you're going to want to scoop up a pair for yourself ASAP.
Best of all, though? The sneakers ring in at a reasonable $75, which is quite a steal, and they boast incredible comfort, thanks to the soft leather upper, a cushioned midsole, and a molded PU sock-liner.
Sevigny accessorized with white ankle socks (another retro touch), sunglasses, and a straw hat with a ribbon chin tie. A swipe of bright-red lipstick pulled together everything with ease, while adding the perfect pop of color.
It's no secret many classics from bygone decades are experiencing a renaissance in 2019 — and Sevigny's Reeboks are the latest example. Shop the model's exact trainers, plus more of The Zoe Report's favorite old-school sneakers, below.
