Black trousers are an undisputed classic for just about any occasion. Dress them down by throwing on a pair of distressed jeans, or opt for a more professional look with tailored trousers. While you may think you've tried every black bottom in the book, Claire Foy's latest premiere outfit includes a version of the style that you likely haven't gotten around to experimenting with yet (but you absolutely should).

Known for fusing menswear-inspired pieces with a delicate touch, Foy loves to push the envelope on the red carpet by wearing anything other than a traditional gown. At a recent press conference promoting her new movie, The Girl in the Spider's Web, the actor was photographed in statement-making PVC trousers by Kitri Studio. The unique pants feature a high waist, a circular zipper, and a cropped cut showing her ankles. Foy added a short-sleeve sweater top in a red-and-black striped print. Instead of intricate pumps or sky-high booties, she went a much more comfortable route with sleek, white tennis shoes.

Foy completed the relaxed-yet-polished outfit by layering a gold coin necklace on top of a daintier star charm, and pulling her short hair into two french braids. She kept her makeup simple and let her piercing blue eyes do the talking with a swipe of mascara, flushed cheeks, and a natural-looking, rosy pout.

Despite the fact that Foy's pants look like a bold fashion choice, they're surprisingly easy to style. The main reason they're so simple? Like any black pant, they go with everything in your closet. Toss on your favorite white sneakers and add a printed knit to recreate Foy's exact style, or opt for an outfit formula that's all your own. Wear them for a night out with an open-back top and colorful pumps, or go for streetwear casual by pairing the PVC pants with a pullover and bulky boots.
