Diane Keaton Gets In On The Leather-Trench Trend With The Perfect Off-Duty Look
It's no secret that the right outerwear has the power to take any ensemble to entirely new heights. Easily dress up a simple white tee and jeans combo by throwing on a fuzzy shearling coat, infuse your getup with a hint of Western charm with a fringe-embellished suede jacket, or do as just abut every celebrity has done in recent weeks and reach for a trench of the leather variety for a touch of elevated edge. That's right, the latter has been reigning supreme as of late, and Diane Keaton's leather trench coat sighting proves the buzzy piece isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Keaton's style has always been impeccable, and it's fairly obvious her wardrobe is chock-full of timeless classics (turtlenecks, high-waisted trousers, and refined two-piece sets have always been her go-to.) But that certainly doesn't mean she's opposed to sporting the season's latest and greatest trends — and that's exactly what she did on Mon. when she headed out for a day of running errands.
On Mar. 3, Keaton was photographed out and about in Beverly Hills donning an outfit that was seriously on trend. The base of her look consisted of a black high-waisted midi skirt and a white tee — a simple pairing that can easily be styled in a handful of ways.
Keaton went edgy with her dressing approach, layering on a double-breasted leather trench coat that was right in line with 2019's biggest outerwear trend. In fact, the actor joins an impressive crop of über-stylish celebs, like Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Lady Gaga, who have made the buttery staple a mainstay in their wardrobes this season.
The coat certainly stole the show, but Keaton's accessories deserve their moment in the spotlight, too. A beanie with the letter "d" embroidered on it (which likely stands for Diane), an impeccably tied polka-dot scarf, a wide waist belt, and a pair of striped athletic socks that slightly peeked out of her black ankle boots rounded out her getup instantly.
